A symbolic transformation language and its application to a multiscale method

چکیده
The context of this work is the design of a software, called MEMSALab, dedicated to the automatic derivation of multiscale models of arrays of microand nanosystems. In this domain a model is a partial differential equation. Multiscale methods approximate it by another partial differential equation which can be numerically simulated in a reasonable time. The challenge consists in taking into account a wide range of geometries combining thin and periodic structures with the possibility of multiple nested scales. In this paper we present a transformation language that will make the development of MEMSALab more feasible. It is proposed as a Maple package for rule-based programming, rewriting strategies and their combination with standard Maple code. We illustrate the practical interest of this language by using it to encode two examples of multiscale derivations, namely the two-scale limit of the derivative operator and the two-scale model of the stationary heat equation.

Application of M3GM in a Petroleum Reservoir Simulation
Reservoir formations exhibit a wide range of heterogeneity from micro to macro scales. A simulation that involves all of these data is highly time consuming or almost impossible; hence, a new method is needed to meet the computational cost. Moreover, the deformations of the reservoir are important not only to protect the uppermost equipment but also to simulate fluid pattern and petroleum produ...
متن کاملPygmalion in Conversation with Pierre Bourdieu:A Sociological Perspective
George Bernard Shaw's masterpiece Pygmalion deals with the social function of language and reveals that Linguistic Competence is one of the markers of social status. It presents the story of the social transformation of a flower girl into a ‘lady’ through linguistic retraining. This work has been analyzed from a variety of perspectives such as Freudian psychology and sociolinguistic perspective...
متن کاملThe Status of Allegory and Symbolic Language in Quranic Stories: A Review and Critique of the Theory of Fantasization
One of the common views in contemporary Quranic research is the dialog on the existence of allegory and symbolic language in the Quran and Quranic stories. Citing such arguments as the common literary style between the Quranic stories and human stories, the use of symbols with specific modes of expression in the Quran and the cases in which the Divine intent is expressed through questions and a...
متن کاملAPPLICATION OF EXP-FUNCTION METHOD TO THE (2+1)-DIMENSIONAL CALOGERO BOGOYAVLANSKII SCHIFF EQUATION
In this paper, the Exp-function method, with the aid of a symbolic computation system such as Maple, is applied to the (2+1) -dimensional Calogero Bogoyavlanskii Schiff equation. Exact and explicit generalized solitary solutions are obtained in more general forms. The free parameters can be determined by initial or boundary conditions. The method is straightforward and concise, and its applicat...

Introduction: Migration, in addition to social, cultural, and economic consequences, undoubtedly has different psychological consequences for immigrants. These consequences can have a huge impact on their mental health. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the experience of symbolic violence and its psycho-social consequences among immigrant students and to determine its fina...
